The best place to start is to find a joiner that you’d like to work with to complete the job. You can find a full list of JMF manufacturers who can produce compliant timber joinery here. We’d recommend speaking with a few joiners to discuss the project and find the best people for the job.
All JMF manufacturers will tag compliant joinery using a JMF tag, in a discreet place on the frame. Often this is tucked right inside the frame where you can only see the tag if you are looking for it. If the joiner has not tagged the frames, it may not be compliant and therefore likely won’t pass a council inspection or be covered under your insurance.
Not all timber joinery is made equal, and as a customer you should always be looking for joinery that is compliant with the New Zealand building code. JMF joinery has been rigorously tested to stand up to New Zealand’s environmental conditions. By choosing JMF, you are choosing the peace of mind that your joinery will last the test of time.
Yes, our joinery complies with all relevant areas of the NZ Building code, including E2 and H1.
